Anna J. Legin, 100, of Philadelphia died June 27 at Deer Meadows Nursing Home in Northeast Philadelphia.
Legin was born Nov. 24, 1912 in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Alphonse and Anna (Kautt) Legin. She was the sister of (baby) Helen Legin, Marie Legin, Aurelia Legin and Leona Downey and Alphonse Legin.
She worked in janitorial services at St. Hubert High School and also at St. Edmund’s Convent for the Sisters of the Holy Child Jesus.
She was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Parish in the Tacony section of Philadelphia.
Anna is survived by her nieces Anna Mae Legin and Marie Legin, her nephew and Godchild Philip Downey (Lorraine), and great-nephews Christopher Downey, Stephen Downey, Kevin Downey (Laura) and Colin Downey (Diane).
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Tuesday, July 2 from 9:30-10:50 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation Church located at 7051 Tulip Street in Philadelphia, followed by the funeral Mass at 11 a.m.
Interment will be at St. Dominic Cemetery.
