Alumni of Holy Child School came back to their North Philadelphia roots on Saturday, Nov. 2 for a dinner-dance at their former Catholic school following Mass in Our Lady of Hope Church.
In 1993 the parish was created from the consolidation of several North Philadelphia Catholic parishes, including Holy Child. The Mass celebrated the 110th anniversary of Holy Child Parish’s founding.

The organizer of the gala event, Our Lady of Hope parishioner and Holy Child School graduate Cynthia Brown, said 200 attended the event, traveling from near and far, and raised $30,000 for the parish. “The past came back to help the present and the future,” she said.
Our Lady of Hope Church, led by the pastor, Father Efren Esmilla, is located at 5200 North Broad Street in Philadelphia.
