Donovan Carter, a parishioner at St. Athanasius in Philadelphia, attended a May 30 Center City protest against the killing of George Floyd while in Minneapolis police custody. Carter, a young Black Catholic adult and photographer, captured scenes from the march before leaving to escape the violence that emerged.
