Sister Mary Roselita Bradley, C.S.F.N., died May 9 at Jesus of Nazareth (Mount Nazareth) Convent in Philadelphia. She was 87 and in the 68th year of religious life.
Born in Philadelphia, she was baptized at Ascension of Our Lord Church and attended St. Hubert Catholic High School.
She entered the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth in 1952 and professed final vows in 1961.
Sister Roselita taught at the elementary level for several years at St. John Cantius School in Philadelphia, Queen of Peace School in Ardsley and St. Mary School in Worcester, Mass.
She then accepted a teaching position at Nazareth Academy High School in Philadelphia. Mathematics was her area of concentration. She was a graduate of Holy Family University and Villanova University.
During the summer of 1983, Sister Roselita was elected secretary general of the congregation, serving nine years in Rome. At the conclusion of her term of office, she returned to Nazareth Academy where she spent the next 10 years teaching and serving as the assistant principal.
In keeping with current health and safety guidelines, her interment was private. A Memorial Mass for Sister Roselita will be held at a future date.
