Sister Madeline Davis, S.S.J. (formerly Sister Francis Margaret), age 89, died Sept. 29 at St. Joseph Villa, Flourtown.

The daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (nee Care) Davis, she attended Holy Name Grade School and Camden Catholic High School.

She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph, Chestnut Hill in 1951 and professed her final vows in 1959.

Sister Madeline ministered in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and the Diocese of Trenton.

Sister of the late Francis, James, Richard, Joseph, John, Margaret and Ann Davis, she is survived by niece Kathleen Aumack, nephew Martin Priller, friends and members of her congregation, the Sisters of St. Joseph.

The funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 7 at St. Joseph Villa.
