Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez blessed and dedicated Saint Joseph Place, a new affordable housing community for independent seniors in Collingdale (Delaware County) May 22. The opening of the newly renovated building which once housed Saint Joseph Parish School (1916-2010) is the sixth such facility opened by Catholic Housing and Community Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (CHCS).
Saint Joseph Place consists of 50 one-bedroom apartments for income eligible seniors 62 and older. Additional features include a community room, food cupboard, laundry facilities, resident lounges, and on-site social services facilitated by CHCS staff to assist residents with aging in place.
