Sister of St. Francis Joella Francis Campbell was a professed member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia for 68 years.

Sister Marie Angela Natoli dies at 87

Sister Marie Angela Natoli was General Superior of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary from 1994 to 2000. A teacher for many years, she was a recipient of the Valley Forge Freedom Foundation Teacher Award.

Mural signed by Pope Francis dedicated at future home of St. Malachy School

Auxiliary Bishop John McIntyre blessed the outdoor mural, “The Sacred Now: Faith and Family in the 21st Century," at the site of the future St. Malachy School on Nov. 30. The 4,239 square foot mural, signed by Pope Francis during his Philadelphia visit in September, is part of the Mural Arts Program in the city.

Annual Open House and Christmas Concert at seminary

St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Wynnewood will host its annual open house and Christmas concert Sunday, Dec. 6 with tours beginning at 1 p.m. Light refreshments will precede the concert with the seminary choir and musicians at 4 p.m.

Cursillo Movement marks 50 years in Archdiocese of Philadelphia

The Cursillo Movement in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia commemorates its 50th anniversary of helping Catholics renew their faith and live the Gospel message in their daily lives. A Mass, which is open the public, will be celebrated Sunday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. at St. Martin of Tours Church in Northeast Philadelphia.

Climate deal must be transformative, papal envoy tells leaders in Paris

Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Vatican secretary of state, who was speaking on behalf of Pope Francis, called for a climate agreement with a foundation of justice and fairness. World leaders attending the Conference of Parties Nov. 30 to Dec. 11 in Paris, France, are discussing carbon emission limits.

Living Nativity at St. William Parish

Mother Angelica, who suffered two strokes 14 years ago, remains confined to bed and is receiving nutrients through a feeding tube. She launched the Eternal Word Television Network in 1981.
