Shanahan sends aid to the Philippines

Students and families of Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown recently donated $7,500 to victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. The money will be distributed to those in need through Catholic Relief Services.

Student gathers discarded marathoners’ clothes, donates to the needy

An army of student volunteers from Merion Mercy Academy, led by Madi Resnic and her father Michael, hustled behind thousands of runners at the Philadelphia Marathon last weekend and picked-up 20,000 discarded sweats, shirts, hats and gloves.

West Chester sixth graders visit program that helps needy children

Simon and Jude School, West Chester, took a field trip to West Conshohocken last week to visit the Cradles to Crayons facility that provides children from birth to age 12, living in low- income and homeless situations, with the essential items they need to thrive at home, at school and at play.
