Rev. Edmund C. Regensburger, C.Ss.R.
Father Edmund C. Regensburger, C.Ss.R., died Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, after a short illness. He was 89. Father Regensburger was born in Philadelphia. He and his family were members of the former St. Boniface Parish in North Philadelphia. He professed vows in the Redemptorist order on Aug. 2, 1941, and was ordained a priest June 23, 1946, at Mount St. Alphonsus Seminary, Esopus, N.Y. The following year, he was sent to Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, where he administered to parishioners for more than 25 years. In addition to teaching religious education to children, he also had a radio and television program through which he taught the faith to older Catholics. Later he was assigned to Florida, where he served English and Spanish-speaking parishioners in Tampa, Opa Locka, Wauchula and DeLand. After retirement, he remained active in ministry from his residence at St. Alphonsus Villa, Fla. He is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Florence (Fox) Regensburger. A funeral Mass was celebrated Jan. 26 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fla. He is survived by a sister, Sister Maryann Regensburger, S.Sp.S., numerous nephews and extended family.
Eileen G. Blankemeyer
Eileen G. Blankemeyer died Jan. 2, 2009, at Lansdale Hospital. She was 79. She was the wife of the late Francis J. Blankemeyer Sr. She was born in Upper Darby to the late John and Ellen Gilligan (nee Jordan) where she later went on to graduate from Villa Maria Academy and Immaculata University. She worked for 58 years at St. Laurence Parish as the church organist and retired June 1, 2008. She is predeceased by two brothers, John, and Charles; and two sisters, Sister M. St. Eileen, I.H.M., and Sister Mary Adelaide, I.H.M. A funeral Mass was celebrated Jan. 8 at St. Laurence Church, Upper Darby. Interment followed at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield. She is survived by three sons, Larry, Carl, and Francis J. Jr; three daughters, Mary Kay, Eileen, Anne; 14 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Robert R. Rabiolo
Robert R. Rabiolo, of South Philadelphia, died March 3, 2009. He worked for many years at National Drying Machinery Co. In his spare time, he enjoyed origami, the traditional Japanese art of paper folding. He is the brother of Frank, Lillian, Carmela and the late Vincent Rabiolo. A funeral Mass was celebrated March 9 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Interment immediately followed. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
