Sister Jane Frances Chila, I.H.M., died July 4 in Camilla Hall, Immaculata, in the 55th year of her religious life. She was 81 years old.
Born in Philadelphia, Sister Jane Frances entered the Congregation of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1958 from Stella Maris Parish, Philadelphia, and professed her vows in 1961.
She taught seventh and eighth grade in various schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for more than 20 years. She then became a tutor for many children.

In 2008 Sister Jane Frances went to Camilla Hall to assist in the infirmary.
The funeral Mass was celebrated at Camilla Hall July 9. Father Brian S. Lewis was the celebrant and homilist, and Father William E. Dean concelebrated.
Sister Jane Frances is survived by members of her religious community, her siblings, Dominic (Anne) Chila, Emilio (Barbara) Chila, Carmella (Vincent) Armetta and Louis (Maria) Chila. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Francis and Catherine DeMarco and one sister, Elivera Bakley.
