At age 82 he was the oldest active pastor in the Philadelphia Archdiocese. He was known to drop everything to visit sick parishioners and for celebrating Mass in Slovak. He was long dedicated to the Legion.
Msgr. Bernard Witkowski, promoter of Polish heritage, dies at 81
The Polish American priest was ordained by Cardinal Krol and worked with him on projects including bringing the future Pope John Paul II to Philadelphia. He may be the only American priest to be depicted in a Marvel comic book.
Sister Catherine Agnes, I.H.M., dies in 73rd year of religious life
