A sold-out event at Holy Cross Regional Catholic School in Collegeville turned from a school fundraiser into a community celebration.

The Nov. 9 basket raffle, which drew more than 500 participants, featured donations from numerous school families and local businesses.

Prizes included tickets to Philadelphia Eagles, Sixers and Flyers games, as well as Apple products and luxury kitchen gadgets. The raffle was paralleled by a similar drawing for the students that featured kid-friendly prizes such as games and toys.

Pope John Paul II High School in Royersford hosted the event in its gym.

Established in 2012, Holy Cross offers pre-school through eighth grade instruction, with an average overall enrollment of 525 per year.
